Lumion
Lumion is architectural visualisation software that imports models from design applications to produce images, panoramas and animations.
Workflow
The architectural model is the base; surroundings, materials, light, weather and cameras are then adjusted in the visualisation scene. Links or reimports allow the representation to follow design changes.
Clean geometry, named materials and consistent coordinates reduce import errors. Source-software version, exchange format and computer specification should be checked before production.
Scope
Lumion supports image making but does not validate the design. Quality depends on supplied data and artistic choices; library assets remain representations unless an exact product reference is explicitly documented.
Practical questions
Does Lumion create the building model?
It can host and enrich a scene, but the design model usually comes from a CAD or BIM application.
Why test an import early?
To identify scale, axis, face, material or complexity problems before final rendering.
