Orbital model
An orbital 3D model is an interactive representation that users rotate around a building or development to inspect it from multiple angles.
What it enables
It provides an overview of site layout, massing, orientation and relationships between buildings. Depending on the interface, points of interest can lead to a unit, amenity, view or piece of information.
Production requires an optimised model, a defined context boundary, materials, landscape information and an interaction list. For web delivery, file weight, target devices, loading time and accessible controls belong in the brief.
Difference from a virtual tour
The camera primarily revolves around the object, whereas a virtual tour places the user inside spaces. An orbital model supports orientation but does not replace dimensioned plans or assessment of views from individual homes.

Can users select units?
Yes, when unit data, identifiers and display rules are designed and maintained as part of the experience.
Will it work on mobile?
It can, but target devices must be defined and geometry, textures and interactions optimised and tested on them.
