Drone photo & video
A drone photograph is an aerial image captured by an unmanned aircraft under a defined flight scenario, operating area and set of safety rules.
Property use
It can locate a site, show access, landscape and its relationship with the neighbourhood. For CGI insertion, focal length, altitude, heading, time and capture data should be retained.
The remote pilot prepares the flight according to the operation category, airspace, people present and local restrictions. Weather and authorisations may require postponement.
Rules and limits
Capturing an image does not automatically grant permission to publish everything visible. Aviation safety, privacy, image rights and property rights require separate checks.
Practical questions
Can a drone fly anywhere?
No. The location, operation and current restrictions must be checked before each flight.
Why retain metadata?
It helps reconstruct a matching virtual camera for accurate insertion of the project into the photograph.
