VEFA
VEFA is the French off-plan sale contract under which a buyer purchases a property to be built or under construction and acquires ownership progressively.
Visualising a future property
Because the completed home cannot yet be visited, plans, renders and virtual tours help explain layout, volumes and atmosphere. They need to remain consistent with applicable plans and specifications.
An approval process should connect each visual to a dated version. Decorative items, views, planting and equipment not included in the sale are distinguished from contractual characteristics.
Contractual framework
The French Construction and Housing Code regulates the contract, required information and guarantees. A marketing visual supports understanding but does not replace the reservation contract, deed or technical description.
Practical questions
Is a CGI contractually binding?
Its status depends on project documents and commitments; realism alone says nothing about that status. Signed documents apply according to their scope.
How should a change be managed?
Approve the revised source, identify every affected visual and replace published versions.
